Questions

Why can’t I find it?

It ships turned off. Turn it on in Settings › Plugins.

Does it show what I type?

Only if you choose All keys in Settings › Keystrokes. Otherwise it shows only shortcuts, such as ⌘C, and nothing shows while you type a password.

Yes. Show Keystrokes in the Keybumps menu, Hide Keystrokes in Quick Search, or a Show & Hide Keystrokes shortcut you set hides them, and the same brings them back.

Do I need it to show shortcuts in a recording?

No. ScreenGrabs shows the shortcuts you press in its recordings with Show shortcuts on screen, whether Keystrokes is on or off.

Why does it need Input Monitoring?

To hear the keys you press. It only listens, and a key stays in memory only while it’s on screen.
